After two state examinations, Herwart Wilms began his career in the recycling industry in 1991 and thus has over 30 years of professional experience. After holding various positions with operational and strategic tasks, he is now managing director of a holding company of REMONDIS SE. In addition to his responsibility for corporate communication, marketing and governmental affairs for the Remondis Group, Herwart Wilms has also been Vice-President of the Federal Association for the Waste Management, Water and Recycling Industry (BDE), which represents the German and European interests of the industry, for many years. At the Federation of German Industries (Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie e.V.), Mr Wilms is Chairman of the Raw Materials Policy Working Group and on the Board of the BDI Circular Economy Initiative. This initiative, like the BDI as a whole, supports the transformation of industrial society towards climate neutrality and resource self-sufficiency.
