Graduating with honours in Civil Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, Italy, he later served as Professor of Environmental Engineering at the University of Naples Parthenope.
He is currently Adjunct Professor of Circular Economy at the Wessex Institute of Technology in Southampton and Lecturer in Environment Management at Cranfield University in London, UK.

He is involved in several international research projects and is the author of over 120 scientific publications spanning various fields of engineering.
At present, he serves on numerous international scientific committees worldwide, including the Journal of Energy Engineering Science and Journal of Hydrology Science of the Publishing Group, New York, USA, where he also acts as Auditor Scientific Officer.

He has led the planning of several high-level technical engineering projects in the environmental sector.
Since 1996, he has been a member of the National Geographic Society and of the New York Academy of Sciences.

He has served as President of the National Environmental Commission and was awarded a public Commendation by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers in 2011 for his contribution to resolving the waste emergency in the Campania Region.

He is a member of REPRISE, the Register of Scientific Experts of the Italian Ministry of University and Research, a member of the National Agency for Digital Transformation and Innovation, and an expert member of the Italian Foundation for Sustainable Development.
