Montello S.p.A is an Italian industry that operates in the treatment, recovery and recycling of post-consumer plastic packaging and organic waste. It owns two different production sites:

• The historical one, located in Montello, started operating in 1996. Nowadays it covers 450.000 m² area, of which 120.000 m² are indoor and it’ s characterized by:
  1. A recovery and recycling plant that treats OFMSW (Organic Fraction of Municipal Solid Wastes), with a capacity of 695.000 ton per year. Biogas, generated by anaerobic digestion phase is used to produce:Electricity and thermal energy and Biomethane used as advanced biofuel for transports. Throw the process CO2 is also recovered for industrial and food applications. The composting aerobic phase permits to obtain high quality fertilizer.
  2. An integrated sorting, recovery and recycling plant treats about 300.000 ton per year of postconsumer plastic packaging. This process allows to sort different kinds of plastic by specific polymer and transforms them into new raw material in form of flakes (PET) and granules (HDPE, LDPE, PP and mixed polyolefinic).
• The second production site located in Stradella, was built up over an area of 30.000 m² of which 6.000 m² are covered. It’ s specialised in the production of PP and HDPE coloured granules from sorting, recovery and recycling of about 27.000 ton per year post consumer plastic packaging.

In 1998 Montello was the first Italian factory to apply Near infrared optical system to the plastic sorting process and, as a result, it has been awarded two times in 2008 and 2018 “Sviluppo Sviluppo” first prize patronized by the Italian Republic President. Montello cares about environment; in fact around 390.000 ton of CO2 equivalent are saved each year, thanks to its activities.
