The Extended Producer Responsibility Alliance (EXPRA) is the umbrella organization representing 35 national packaging recovery and recycling organizations that operate on a not-for-profit basis across Europe and beyond. Founded to promote Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) as a key tool for achieving packaging circularity, EXPRA and its members work closely with producers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to develop efficient, transparent, and sustainable waste management systems.
EXPRA’s mission is to enable circular and carbon-neutral packaging through optimized EPR schemes, ensuring that producers take responsibility for the entire life cycle of their products—from design to collection, sorting, and recycling. By sharing expertise, advocating for fair and effective regulation, and supporting best practices, EXPRA contributes to a more resource-efficient and circular economy.
